ITSC 2024 AERO-HVAF Coating Equipment Inc. will be presenting an update on the approval of Hybrid HVAF coating technology as an approved alternative to chrome plating and HVOF coating technology for the landing gear segment of the Aerospace industry at the upcoming ITSC 2024 in Milan, Italy from April 29th to May 1st.

Safran AERO-HVAF Coating Equipment Inc. is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a contract to sell and install their Hybrid HVAF coating equipment within the Safran Safir research facility located in the University of Limoges, France specializing in surface treatments for aerospace applications .  The Safir research facility will assist Safran to enhance its surface treatment capabilities, to make lighter and longer-lasting products capable of reducing noise and emissions, compliant with the European regulation REACH and capable of addressing the requirements of all types of aerospace applications, now and in the future.  The facility’s roadmap also provides for developing the numerical simulation of processes, in line with Safran Factory of the Future initiative, based on capturing, storing, analyzing, and exploiting production data, to ensure control over product quality.  AERO-HVAF looks forward to working closely with Safran’s Safir research facility with their continued development of Hybrid HVAF based coatings.

Collins Aerospace (Landing gear segment Oakville, Ontario) are currently in TRL6 of their approval stage and are currently revising the LGPS 1301 Thermal Spray specification to add AERO-HVAF’s HVAF coating technology as an approved alternative to chrome plating and HVOF coating.

AERO-HVAF will be presenting it’s paper entitled “Approval of Hybrid HVAF Coating Technology, an Alternative to Hard & Thin Dense Chrome Plating & HVOF Coating Technology on Landing Gear OEM Components” at the upcoming A3TS Conference in Pau, France December 5-7th 2023.

C&M Technologies agrees on a collaboration project with AERO-HVAF to develop WC 10Co4Cr Hybrid HVAF cut powder grain sizes -15+5um, –
10+2um  with primary carbide sizes of 0.8um and 0.5um.
